Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's monarch for the past 70 years, has died aged 96.
Statement from the Mayor of Holyhead:
"This is such a sad day for the country, the Commonwealth and in fact the world.
As with a lot of others I have never known our world without our wonderful Queen, A Queen who has given her life to the service of her Country and peoples.
Thank you Ma'am for all your hard work. Rest in Peace with your beloved husband."
Book of Condolence
There will be a book of condolence open to sign in St Cybi's Church.
Re: Christmas lighting tender 2022/2023; 2023/2024; 2024/2025
Tenders are invited from NICEIC registered electrical contractors for the temporary installation, maintenance and removal of the town's Christmas lighting features for a three year period until the 5th January 2025.
The installation to be carried out in compliance with BS 7671 the IEE Wiring Regulations and HSE requirements.
The lights to be erect for switching on Ceremony on the last Saturday of November each year and removed on a date to be confirmed in January following. (Date could be subject to change). The electrical contractor will be required to respond to any faults reported within 24 hours during the installation period.
The successful Tenderer will be required to give technical advice to the Towns Events Committee when it meets.
